Ellsworth, Jr.  wins 26th Boss Eliminator

Samoa – Dennis Ellsworth, Jr. won his fourth consecutive race and the 26th Boss Eliminator title with his Wonder Brothers dragster.  Dennis won the final round on a single run as his slated opponent, Rich Kelly, had crashed his dragster in the semifinal round and could not return.  Carl Engel and Scott Anderson were the third place finishers.

 

Other winners included Harlan Tucker, Ethan Jacobs, Glen Terry, Robbie Waddell and John Widmann.

 

Tucker ran a time of 11.47 at 104 mph to capture the Pro title over his son, Scott.  Harlan drives a 1967 Barracuda while Scott pilots a 1968 version of the same car.  Curtis Daniels was the third place driver in his 1969 Chevelle.

 

Jacobs drove his 1968 Camaro to the win in Quick Street by running 11.58 at 118 mph.  Ron Gulbransen was runner-up with his 1968 Mustang while Doug Atkins finished third in his 1969 Camaro.

 

Glen Terry captures the Street bracket in his 1965 Dodge Dart by defeating the 2004 Focus of Jackie Allen.  Jim Brodersen and Leanna Campbell were the semifinalists.

 

Robbie Waddell won the Junior Dragster title with a time of 10.81.  He beat Tyler Hutton in the final and Adam Smith finished third.  Joe Pettit defeated Kevin Will in the Consolation race.

 

John Widmann won the Motorcycle class on his 1997 Kawasaki in a time of 8.99 at 139 mph.  Nathan Bareis-Smith was runner-up on his 1999 Buell and the semifinalists were Louie Henninger and James Surber.

 

The next drag race will be a two-day event on August 14 and 15.
